Simple ways to attain inner peace.

Inner Peace means, as the name suggests, there are no external factors to feel at peace and there is no such thing as external peace.

What we call as world turmoil, lack of peace around us is nothing but lack of peace with in us. Where is peace located? Do we find them in stones, water or trees? There is no such thing as 'peace' in inanimate things! After all, don't we say, "Peace of mind"? We don't say 'peace of body'!

So, how to be at peace at any given time? How to attain peace of mind?

Steps to achieve inner peace-part 1.

Inner Peace-as the name suggests, there are no external factors to feel at peace and there is no such thing as external peace.

What we call as world turmoil, lack of peace around us is nothing but lack of peace with in us.

Let me explain.

A few moments make an hour. And hours make days. In order to have peaceful days, we need to have peaceful hours and they contain peaceful moments.

Life is nothing but string of moments.

Similarly, if you are at peace, you radiate peace around you and that makes a few more people at peace. This can develop a group of peaceful persons and several such groups form a peaceful community and so on.

Doesn't it make sense?

Now, let us examine briefly the steps to attain inner peace.
* Introspection
Whenever you notice a restlessness in you, ask yourself what is bothering you. I a 100% sure you find nothing of significance and you will wonder did you put up with thus far.
*Slow down
I read this somewhere: "In order to access high speed frequency, you have to slow down". Very aptly said I would say. By slow down I mean, don't try to rush up things. Let them take their own sweet time to evolve fully and bring fruits.

In fact, when you realize you are walking faster, eating at a pace that is not healthy, it means you are literally fighting to keep the inner peace away.
*Appreciate
Just pause to stop thinking or doing anything for only 5 minutes. Think about what are all things you used to appreciate and look for the same around you now. You will be surprised to more number of things than the past, to appreciate.
*Stop criticizing yourself
Over analyzing your actions, thoughts and possessions will lead you to criticize yourself and end up at an inner turmoil. How else can you attain inner peace?
In fact, if you spend that valuable time in comparing your life with many others, you will be amazed to realize that you are really doing very well.
*Be lazy
Lazing around for a minimum of 15 minutes a day can do wonders to your spirit. Just be inert to your thoughts, commitments and external sound.

I will discuss more steps in the next part of this blog post.

Just who are you?

So, you thought you live naturally just because you live surrounded by nature? The other day, what started like an innocuous conversation on human character developed into a deep spiritual topic but ended not on a pleasant note.

I am a firm believer of possessing no identity. But we all know how people label themselves based on their education, achievements, possessions, financial status, social standing, friends and emotional maturity.

Yes, there are more to the list but the idea is conveyed-right?

If one care to examine all their so called possessions and re-examine them after years, they will realize that they would now possess new things that would cause them to name a different label.
What happened to the previous label/identity?

We all pick up moral, ethical and social values along the trail of our life, keep changing them (well almost) as we pick up more so called knowledge, observe the world events, read news junks-all these build up our so called character.

But we are not born with none of them. Nothing of our present day character or nature is really natural.

We are by nature, loving unconditionally and forgiving everyone and everything. Yes, our true nature is God like!

Realize this, acknowledge it and you will never hurt anyone hereafter and you will lead a life absolute peace and bliss. Your face will shine literally because of your inner calmness.

Give peace a chance.

One of earlier posts on Lucid Dreaming titled "Don't waste your dreams" has received a valuable feedback from Dr.Joseph Bernard, PhD. Read his comments at the end of the above mentioned blog post. He is the webmaster of Peace Together and he also authors a blog called http://www.explorelifeblog.com/

At his website, there are several products promoting peace and the first logo I saw there, bore these words, "Give Peace a Chance". I liked it very much and made it a title for this blog post.

What a coincidence! Only yesterday, I was reading about peace in a book written by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I quote:
"Thy peace is the essence of our universe. It is God at work. There is no anger, fear, greed, malice at peace. When you are an Instrument of peace, you are not seeking anything;you become a peace provider".

The Explore Life Blog contains links to some free e-books. I downloaded one called 'Guide to Inner Peace". I am yet to read it.
